Memorial University of Newfoundland 1999-2000, Female Volleyball Team

The 1999-2000 Memorial women’s volleyball team had a regular season record of 18-0 in Atlantic University Athletic Association (AUAA – now AUS) regular season play. In that outstanding season, Susan Mosher was named the AUAA league MVP, Cheryl Oldford was named a first team all-star, Susan Penney was a second team all-star, Mellissa Oates was the Libero of the Year and Karen Murphy took home Coach of the Year honours.
In the conference playoffs, Memorial defeated Acadia in the semi-finals and Université de Moncton in the final to capture the 1999-2000 AUAA championship banner. Jennifer Humber was named the AUAA championship tournament MVP and Susan Mosher was a championship tournament all-star. Susan was also named a 1999-2000 CIAU second team All Canadian.

For their efforts, the 1999-2000 Memorial women’s volleyball team were named Sport NL Team of the Year and coach Karen Murphy was the Sport NL Coach of the Year. This exceptional group of athletes were true provincial representatives as all thirteen student-athletes are from Newfoundland, hailing from communities all over the island. Their success was a result of several years of hard work and determination, a commitment to playing as a team, and a love of the game. Members of the team include;
