Games run between 6:00–10:00 PM

DETAILS:

Teams will play 2 games per night

Play once per week (Tuesday OR Thursday)

Game nights may rotate throughout the season

Participants register individually and enter their team name during registration. The first teammate to register secures the team’s spot, regardless of when the remaining members register. Teams may include additional players to help avoid defaults. There is no maximum number of players per team; however, registration fees are charged per player, not per team.

Wednesday, Dec 3 and Thursday, Dec 4, 2025
6:00-9:00 – must attend both sessions
Requirements:
  1. All candidates must be in at least Grade 9 to attend
  2. Safe Sport –  All candidates must have the Safe Sport course completed prior to the clinic.  This is free training and is offered through the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) – –https://coach.ca/    If you do not have a “Locker” account with the CAC, simply create one by going to this website:https://thelocker.coach.ca/account/login?ReturnUrl=%2f
  3. Once you have an account, login and you should see the course under E-Learning.  You can also find the training on this website:  https://safesport.coach.ca/participants-training    Confirmation will be required of completion before admittance to clinic.

Registration for the Next Gen programs goes live at noon on March 24th and will close May 9th.

Next Gen 1 14U Females: June 28-29-30 (Born in 2011)
Next Gen 2 13U Female: July 2-3-4 (Born in 2012)
Next Gen 3 13-14U Male: July 2-3-4 (Born in 2011-2012)

All programs will be held at the NL Sports Centre in St. John’s.

The NLVA Next Generation Provincial Team Program is designed to prepare athletes to make the transition into elite volleyball. In this program, athletes will be introduced to elite technical skill training, mental skills training, sports nutritional information, and physical conditioning programs. All aspects of the Next Generation Program are specifically tailored to Male and Female athletes 14 years and younger. These ages align with our Provincial Team Programs and Canada Games programs.

Process

The NLVA will not have tryouts for this program.  We will be offering 3 programs for athletes in these age groups. The NLVA will be taking 84 athletes per program with athletes registering on a first come first serve basis.

All sessions will take place at the NL Sports Centre in St. John’s.

Athletes will be selected for the following programs:

The Team NL Program is an annual program where selected athletes are chosen for 1 of 2 programs.
1. The Eastern Elite Championship Program (EEC) is tailored to athletes who require a team environment and competition to advance their skills. July 12-20 (Travel to New Brunswick)

  1. The Provincial Training Excellence (PTE) Program is designed for athletes who needs intensive skill training to advance themselves in the sport. July 7-11 (NL Sports Centre – St. John’s)

Team NL Tryout Cost: $125 (Includes a Team NL Shirt and 5.5 hours of on-court sessions)

Deadline to Register March 21, 2025.

Once registration is closed no athletes will be able to register!
